~~~~~~~~~~ TOURNAMENT RULES ~~~~~~~~~~
---- GROUP STAGE ----
Each round within the group stage consists of a single battle. To ensure a fair battle, you MUST use the random character select on the character selection menu and you must use the FIRST character that is selected as a result of using the random character select option. The Soulcalibur battle consists of "rounds" and a "match". Each "match" consists of up to three "rounds", if one player wins two "rounds" in succession, then the "match" goes to that player. However if both competitors win one "round" each, then a final "round" is played to determine the winner of the "match". Keeping this in mind, the points system is as follows:
Winning a round: 1 Points
Drawing a round: 0.5 Points
Winning a match: 5 Points
Drawing a match: 2.5 Points
This means that the maximum amount of points that a competitor can achieve through winning a battle is seven points :-
2 points for winning both rounds
5 points for winning the battle
If a player forfeits a match during battle, the competitor wins by default, earning the full 5 Points, whereas the forfeited earns no points.
---- FINAL STAGE ----
When all competitors have played, the TWO frontrunners on the leaderboard will face each other in the Final. The Final consists of five "battles" (a battle consists of a "Match" which consists of up to three "Rounds". If one competitor wins two "rounds" in succession, then the "Match" and therefore the "Battle", goes to that competitor) and the winner is judged on who can win five battles first. The victories don't have to be in succession, for example Competitor A could win four battles and Competitor B could then win five battles in succession meaning Competitor B would reach the five battle win limit first and thus win the Tournament. Like with the Group Stage, to ensure a fair match, both competitors must use the Random Character select option on the Character Selection screen and play with the FIRST character that is selected as a result of using the Random Character select option.
PRIZES ARE YET TO BE ANNOUNCED, but currently consist of bragging rights.
