Chatroom for tournament: https://discord.gg/EJBskcN

Welcome to the premier SSF2/Smash 4 tournament series for the SuperNovaSmash 2018 circuit! This one will decide how players will be seeded throughout the circuit, and setup a working PR.

For anyone wondering about the start-time, the start time will be setup whenever the players are open. It will most likely

be on a sunday.

RULESET (Created by Shintaro):

SET LENGTH:

Set Length will be determined by the amount of competitors in the bracket.

SET PROCEDURE:

  • Players Select their characters.
  • Use Starter Stage Striking to determine the first stage
  • The players play game 1 of the set
  • The winner of game 1 strikes a single stage (when applicable).
  • The loser of game 1 picks the next stage after the winner strikes his stage.
  • Both players are allowed to switch characters inbetween matches.
  • The next game is played.
  • Repeat steps 4-8 until the bo3 or bo5 set is fully completed.
NOTE: If players go to an illegal stage, both will be set for disqualification.

NOTE 2: If both players agree, they can agree to go on a stage thats in the LEGAL stage list.

STAGE STRIKING (GAME 1):

  • Players play a bo1 rock-paper-scissors.
  • The winner gets to decide if they strike stages first.
  • Stage striking goes in a 1-2-1 order, 1 = winner of the rps, 2 = loser.

STALLING:

Stalling, or intentionally making the game unplayable, is banned. Stalling includes but is not limited to becoming invisible/invincible, continuing infinites past 300%, and reaching a position that makes sure your opponent cannot hit you. Stalling will result in a forfeit of the game or set for the player who stalled.

SELF-DESTRUCT MOVES:

If a game ends with a self-destruct move, the results screen will determine the winner. If a sudden death occurs, the standard sudden death rules apply. (See next)

SUDDEN DEATH:

If a game goes to Sudden death, the winner is determined by stocks and percentage at the time the game ends. If both players are tied in stocks the player with the lower percentage is the winner. In the event of a percentage and stock tie, a one stock 3 minute match will be played. If a sudden death occurs in the 1 stock 3 minute match, the process is repeated.

EXTRA RULES:

  • You will be immediately disqualified if you are caught using an alternate tag or username to hide your identity to manipulate the bracket. You will not be banned if you don't manipulate the bracket and you notify a TO before registration that you are using said tag or username.
  • Warm-up periods can last only 30 seconds in game. If this time limit is exceeded, this will cause a forfeit for the player that requested the warm-up.
  • Counterpicking will last up to 30 seconds. If the losing player is unable to decide a Counterpick stage in 30 seconds, someone will judge if the loser loses the next game or not.

Players suspected of colluding may be disqualified from the tournament. This includes intentionally losing a game, splitting a payout, or committing any other form of bracket manipulation.
