-
1. Create a new tournamentHere's where it all begins. Enter the details you know about your tournament. You'll be able to make changes to these settings in later steps, so don't worry if you're missing some pieces. -
2. Add participantsYou have the option of adding participants on your own or letting people sign up.
A participant entered with an email addresses will optionally receive notifications and be able to report his/her own scores. -
3. Sample sign-up pageHere's a look at the optional sign-up page. People can choose to register with or without a Challonge account, and the benefits of having an account are mentioned. -
4. Preview your bracketOnce your participants list is looking good, check out the bracket preview so you know what to expect when your bracket gets published. -
5. Publish your bracketUp to this point, you're the only one who can view your bracket, so it's time to publish it to the URL you chose (challonge.com/battle_royale for this example). Registration via the sign-up page is closed once you do this. -
6. Notification to Challonge-registered participantsUpon publishing your bracket, participants entered with email addresses are sent a link to your bracket. They are also given the option to unregister if they choose not to participate. -
7. View and link to the published bracketYour bracket is now publically available, and you have a couple options listed at the bottom of the page for embedding it on other websites. You can still tweak your participants list and most settings at this point. -
8. Start the tournamentOnce you click "Start the Challonge!", it's game time. Links appear next to open matches for reporting scores. You, the organizer, can report all scores, but others can only do so for their own matches. -
9. Receive match notificationsIf you enabled match notifications, participants are emailed when matches open up for them. No more having to nudge people every time a match opens up. -
10. Report scoresWhen you click a link for reporting a match score, this is the pop-up you get. Some validations help prevent score entry mistakes, but you, the organizer, can also edit scores and outcomes to keep the peace. -
11. View the final resultsOnce all scores are reported, the top 3 players are given the respect they hopefully deserve. The completed bracket will remain available on Challonge for eternity, or until you delete it. -
12. Receive final results notificationIf you enabled the final results notification, participants are emailed the list of top contenders. Ready to get started? Create a free account.
