The Atlanta Thrashers of the NHL may be moving to Winnipeg.  Speculation says that the teams new potential ownership (True North Sports & Entertainment) may name them the Manitoba Moose, which is currently the AHL affiliate team of the Vancouver Canucks.  

Others speculate and possibly wish that they be named the Winnipeg Jets from the old team that was there, but while the NHL owns the Jets logos, name and colors, the Phoenix Coyotes still use the moniker to sell throwback and have occasionally donned the Jets unis.   

There’s also talks that they should be named the Falcons and/or keep the Thrasher nickname.  

I say let the fans decide.  That’s what I’m gonna do.  

I’ve come up with 32 possibilities. Since it’s unclear if they will be called Manitoba or Winnipeg I’ve done that for you. Of course some of the nicknames can be interchangable, others not so much.  

Vote on the best nickname or your favorite.  While this contest is unofficial and currently has no affiliation with True North, Winnipeg, the NHL or any other party associated with the potential move, if the Thrasher do move, I will do my best to send the results to True North Sports & Entertainment so they can see the if they are on par.  

NOTE: I left out Jets, Moose, Falcons and Thrashers because they’ve all been used before.  However, they are not out of the game. I have a secondary contest that will allow fans to vote between those for, and then the winner of that bracket may be matched up with the winner of this bracket for the best/favorite name for the possible NHL Winnipeg franchise.
