• For the purposes of this tournament, the players must be able to communicate in English; the use of a website like Google's translate function is acceptable.

RULES

• Discord username, and Challonge username MUST be the same.
• All names being the same is crucial for both finding your opponent and clarity for the TO. Please respect everybody’s time and make yourself easy to find. Keep in mind, to ping someone in Discord you only need to type "@" followed by the first few letters of their name and hit TAB to autocomplete.
• Discord: type "/nick <Challonge name>" DO NOT change your name to "<name you like > as this is MUCH HARDER to search for in discord
• Challonge: Once you are registered hit the big orange button that says "GO TO YOUR SETTINGS" to change your name to your in-game name
• You must Check In on Challonge and be available in the Discord prior to the start time of the tournament. Check In takes place 1 hour before the tournament begins. Signing up is not the same as Checking In.
• Communicate with your opponent in the Discord to determine who will create the lobby.
• Upon the request of the TO in the Discord, join the stream lobby.
• Winner must report the match on Challonge.
• Only one account per entrant.
• Training stage is recommended to reduce lag. If both players agree, other stages may be used.
• DO NOT compete in Round 1 until the tournament has officially begun. Brackets are automatically reorganized by Challonge prior to the start of the tournament to account for competitors who have not checked in. (This usually takes a few minutes past start time to assure proper seeding)
• There is no restriction on nationality, etc., to play, but minors must provide some proof of consent from a parent or guardian before playing.
• FAILURE TO ADHERE TO THESE RULES CAN RESULT IN IMMEDIATE DISQUALIFICATION

• Payout, as detailed in the Matcherino, is determined by the final amount of the prize pool (at $15 or more, top two placements are paid; at $50 or more, top 3 are paid, etc.  In the event the prize pool exceeds $100, the TOs may, at their discretion, extend the payout to top 4.  This will be announced to the players in advance of any payout or matches to determine Top 4, if possible)

• Bracket is Double Elimination with a Winner's Bracket and Loser's Bracket; regular matches are Best 2 of 3, whereas Winners' Finals, Losers' Finals, and Grand Finals are Best 3 of 5 
• Top 4 - All matches on Stream (This can be tentative to change based on amount of entries)
• Loser has the option to change characters. If the Winner choses Random Select, they must choose Random Select again. If the Loser changes character the winner has the option to change V-Trigger selection.
• In the event of obvious and/or repeated issues with connections during a match, a speed/ping tests can be performed upon request of competitor and will be discussed with the TO.  If a conclusion cannot be agreed upon the match will be decided by a coin flip.  Details of this test may be found in the following section.

ONLINE TOURNAMENT SPECIFIC RULES

• Players must have an upload speed above 3 Mbps. Speeds can be checked at https://www.speedtest.net/.
• Players must have a ping below 60 ms  when connected to a common server chosen between the players. Ping can be tested at https://www.speedtest.net/
• If players cannot connect the player with the most amount of losses will be given the loss. If players have equal losses then both players will be given a loss.
• Wired connections only. If there is suspicion that a Wi-fi connection is being used, the Tournament Organizers reserve the right to request photo verification of a wired connection. Disqualification can occur in the case of Wi-fi connections.
• If a TO suspects that players are trying to game the rules and undermine the spirit of competition they will be immediately disqualified and not receive any prizes.
• Players are prohibited from using macros, turbos, or any peripheral which tampers with standard game functionality. No bots.

FAILURE TO ADHERE TO THESE RULES CAN RESULT IN IMMEDIATE DISQUALIFICATION
