Tourney Rules

Rules listed below will stand for EVERY title.

For the most part, they are "GameBattles" rulings, but some are changed.

  • No Bots allowed.

Character Restrictions

  • Each team is only allowed one iteration of any character on the team at one time irrespective of character skin.

    • For example, “Vintage Kait” is the same as “Armored Kait”.

  • A single COG team is only allowed 1 female character.

  • Color Blast character are banned in all competitive play. ("Gears of War 4" Only)

  • A single team may only use one Day of the Dead Character and/or one Spectre Character Skin. ("Gears of War 4" only)

  • Each team is allowed to host 1 map of their choosing, with the exception of no map repeats.

    • i.e.) If team 1 chooses "Old Town", team 2 cannot also select "Old Town" as their map.

If both teams agree, a single player within the participating rosters for that set is allowed to host the entire set.

  • Teams are not allowed to decide who plays on COG or Locust/Swarm. The team choosing the map(s) must play on Locust/Swarm side. No exceptions.

  • If a tiebreaker map is needed, the team with the most round wins out-of-10, hosts, and selects the final map.

    • If the round count total from map 1 and map 2 are tied, the winner of map 1 hosts.

  • All matches must be played to its entirety. There is no schedule changes or delays unless the tourney host deems it is necessary.

  • There will be no "Lag Tests". Whichever player on the team decides to host, will host.

  • Teams may not delay the match for more than 5 minutes between each round/map. A round is defined as a stopping point during the match when players may switch sides or change equipment.

Connection Issues:

  1. If a player disconnects from a match before 30 seconds pass by of round 1, map 1, the game must be taken back. If the opposing/hosting team messages to each other about connection issues and requests for the game to be taken back during the given time, the game must be returned back to the lobby.

    1. This can only occur once per map. A team is allowed to play undermanned or forfeit the remainder of the map if their teammate is unable to reconnect.

  2. If a player disconnects mid-round (which is any given time after the map has been started), the remainder of the round must be played. If they fail to reconnect during the same round, both teams must wait the full 4 minutes of the next round before continuing with the match. If the disconnected player(s) fails to rejoin, the game must be continued with a team undermanned or forfeiting the remainder of the map.

    1. This ruling is valid to each team, once per map. It is not intended for the use of multiple Dc scenarios.
