Rules

1. The tournament will be on the English version.
2. Timing starts on new file select at the moment the option 'START' is selected to start game, and ends when Samus faces forward when beamed by her ship after defeating Omega Metroid.
3. Safety saves are permitted and encouraged to prevent softlocking and losing progress.
4. Streaming is required, and you must keep your stream up until the IGT appears at the end of the credits. You may not have anything covering the IGT on stream.
5. For console streaming, you can use the Game Cube with the Game Boy Player attachment (You can either use the official start up disc, or if you can load homebrew, Game Boy Interface is also acceptable, be sure to use the Low-Latency version for best results).
6. If you have a capture modded DS, that will be acceptable as well.
7. A flash cart with the rom is also acceptable.
8. Use of LUA scripts is banned
9. Players are expected to play 1 match per week, unless legitimate unforeseen circumstances do not allow
   
10. VBA (All Versions) is banned, use the latest version of BizHawk. If you need help getting it set up, click here. If you need further assistance, let an admin know.

• BIOS/Firmware: Must match this SHA1 hash

Tournament Format

1. Tournament will be double elimination format.
2. Seeding will be based on the player's IGT PB or random, haven't decided yet.
3. If there is a tie in PB, RTA will be the tie breaker.
4. If both runners do not have an RTA PB, a higher seed will be selected at random.

All Speed Runs Live (SRL) racing rules apply. All participants must use approved emulators/consoles and stream their races. We recommend that you locally save your race-stream file in the event that your stream is disconnected and you are “proofcalled” on your time. If you are not registered with SRL, please do so now. If you do not know how to set up or use an SRL account, please contact a moderator for assistance. Once the race is completed, please get in contact with a member of the admin team to update the standings and times.

Scheduled matches need to be played before the specified deadline for each round. 

You will be given 7 days to play each match.  We realize that a tournament of this magnitude has a lot of people with a lot of schedules to work around. That being said, if you schedule a match with someone and then bail on the scheduled time without prior notice, you may be removed from the tournament at the organizer's discretion.

Any disputes will be handled by the mod team, who will have final say in all matters.  Should a member of the mod team be involved in the dispute, that member will have no say in the final decision.
