Welcome to Gentlemans to Smashville, a Smash Wii U online tournament, streamed by Helix on
The rules are below. Failure to follow the rules will result in a disqualification, and possibly being banned from the Discord and my stream chat.

YOU MUST CHECK IN BEFORE THE TOURNAMENT BEGINS. Check-in opens an hour before the tournament starts, at 6:30 PM, CT.

General Rules:

1) Don't be a Squidward. Show good sportsmanship, respect everyone, and be patient.
2) Use common sense, especially in my stream chat. If you have to ask yourself if posting something is a good idea, it probably isn't.

3) Follow the rules in the Discord. I won't put them here because that's kinda silly, but if you don't follow them, you will be disqualified, and likely banned.
4) Listen to me (Helix) and the moderators. If we tell you to do something, there is a reason.
5) This kinda falls under rule 4, but do not begin your matches until I say so.
6) Two people may not use the same Wii U. It makes things run much more slowly, especially if both players get far in bracket.
7) Make sure everything is good on your end, especially internet connection. I am not responsible for your issues.

Tournament Rules:
1) Find your opponent in the Discord. Please direct message them once you find them, to reduce clutter.
2) Set stocks to 2, time to 6 minutes, launch rate to 1.0, and items to off and none.
3) Legal stages are Smashville, Town & City, Lylat Cruise, Battlefield (or Dreamland), and Final Destination (or any Omega variant)
4) Stages:
Modified Dave's Stupid Rule is in effect, which states that you may not go back to the stage you last won on in the set, unless agreed to by your opponent.
The Gentleman Rule may be used, where two players agree to a stage (it doesn't have to be legal) to play on.
Stage striking (for game 1) is as follows:
Player 1 strikes one stage from the list above.
               Player 2 strikes two stages.
Player 1 chooses from the remaining stages.
Most people just gentleman to Smashville, though. :^)
After game 1, the winner may ban one stage from the list above. The loser then picks from the remaining stages.
5) Any connection issues must be played through. If a connection is really that bad, notify me (Helix) or a moderator. We will connect with both opponents, and if someone's connection is unplayable, they will, unfortunately, have to be disqualified.
6) Report your scores in the bracket. Do not tell a moderator unless you are unable to report it for some reason. Both the winner and loser have a responsibility to report the score and/or check that it is accurate.
7) Show good sportsmanship. I have no tolerance for sore losers; this is supposed to be fun.

8) Have fun, and remember to gentleman to Smashville.
