Jstris QuickFires are weekly 90-minutes-long-ish tournaments held on Jstris. ,

This week will be the last JstrisFire tourney for quite a while and I have planned something special. A match consists of 3 different rulesets: 7 games on Quickfire (preset ID = 10), 5 games on Classic (preset ID = 15), 5 games on MPH (preset ID = 20). All wins are counted together and the player who has more wins, wins the match. "Quickfire" ruleset is pretty much guideline (7-bag randomizer, 5 previews, hold). "Classic" resembles older Tetris games (memoryless randomizer, 1 preview, no hold). MPH is like Classic but with 0 previews (and no b2b bonus). You can learn a little more about the presets here:

Tournament will be held on Sunday December 10th, 6 AM CET (central europe),  2 PM JST (Japan) resp. Saturday 9th 9 PM PST (California). You have to show up shortly before the tournament starts (see ways to sign up) and you must be available for the next 90 minutes to play your around 4 matches. Countdown:

There are 2 ways to sign up:

a) a Challonge link will be posted in several Discords (HardDrop, Jstris) one hour before the tournament starts. You need a Challonge account to use this way of signing up, but if you do so, then you can self-report your matches. If your Challonge name differs from your Jstris name, then please enter your Jstris name under "Your Settings".

b) In Jstris lobby chat (or Jstris Discord #in-game channel), type "register" shortly before the tournament starts (up to 20 minutes earlier). If you use this way to register, then you will have to announce your match results in the Jstris lobby chat and I will insert them in the brackets.

Also, please check the HardDrop Discord ( or shoutbox at ) while the tournament is in progress. HardDrop Discord is the preferred place to chat. The in-game lobby chat will be also used from time to time.

Tournament will be Swiss System, around 4 matches per player. As said before, a match consists of altogether 17 games on 3 different rulesets (7 on Quickfire, 5 on Classic, 5 on MPH). You have to play all 15 games, although the player who reaches 9 wins first will also win the match. The upper player in the bracket should create the room. The lower player should click "Refresh List" in the Jstris Lobby from time to time to see, if the opponent has already created the room.

Once in a room, players usually wait with starting the match until both players have said gl hf (good luck, have fun). Players can play one or two warm up games, if both players agree to them. Usually, the winner of the last point starts the next game.

How to create a room with the desired ruleset: If you are in another room, then click "Lobby". In the Lobby, click "Create room". Mark the bullet point "Preset" and click "Use custom preset". The game will ask you for the ruleset name or ID. Enter "MPH" or "20" (without quotation marks) resp. "Classic" / "15" , " Quickfire" / "10". Don't forget to choose a name for the room, something like "QF name1 vs name2". Then click "Create". Explaining pictures:
