Michigan Tekken Sessions PC Online Tournament - 04/29/2021

*** THIS TOURNAMENT IS ONLY FOR THOSE WHO HAVE PLAYED IN THE WEEKLY MICHIGAN TEKKEN SESSIONS IN THE PAST OR PRESENT. THOSE WHO HAVE NOT PLAYED IN THE WEEKLY SESSIONS BEFORE ARE INELIGIBLE FOR THIS TOURNAMENT. IF YOU SIGN-UP AND HAVE NOT PLAYED IN A WEEKLY SESSION BEFORE, YOU WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE BRACKET. ***

GENERAL RULES:

- Free entry, no cost to enter. Have fun!

- Tournament begins promptly at 9:30PM ET. Check-in begins at 7:30PM ET! Please check-in via Challonge and NOT Discord.

- Tournament scores can be reported via the Michigan Tekken Sessions Discord or via Twitch chat. Please reach out to myself or my assistant TO for score reporting.

- Players who plan to be tardy must notify me or a TO ahead of time. We will do our best to accommodate, but we will issue DQs in order to keep the tournament flowing.

- Double Elimination bracket. 32 player cap is enforced.

- Grand Finals, Winners Finals, and Losers Finals are all FT3; all earlier matches are FT2.

- Character lock for game winner.

- You're welcome to stream the tournament, but please host the main channel for on-stream matches. If your matches are off-stream, go for it.

- No restreaming / re-uploading of the tournament is permitted without prior permission.

- Due to potential de-syncing, PLEASE REMOVE ALL STAGE/CHARACTER MODS BEFORE PLAYING.

- Custom costumes are fine with the following notes:

-- No item usage; items as cosmetics are fine, just don't use them.

-- Jack-7 Presets 3 and 4 and Gigas Preset 3, and any customizations based on them, are banned

-- You may be asked not to use a custom costume in the event that it is both hideous and intentionally distracting

NETWORK STABILITY RULES:

- WIRED (ETHERNET) CONNECTION REQUIRED. Since this is a tournament, WiFi connections are not acceptable for network stability reasons. Anyone found to manipulate their connection to give the appearance of a wired connection when they are, in fact, wireless, will receive a DQ for the entire tournament.

- Only players from the USA (continental 48 states) and CANADA (Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia) are eligible to play in this tournament. Other regions, unfortunately, are too inconsistent for network play in a tournament setting.

- To combat lag issues, you are entitled to a network test with your opponent prior to actually playing your set. If lag is experienced, then you may either choose to play the set and accept the results thereafter, or choose to review the network connection with a TO (tournament organizer). A TO will be called to test their connection with each player.

-- If the TO experiences lag with one player and not the other, then the opponent who is considered the source of the lag will receive a DQ for that set.

-- If the TO experiences lag with both players, then the player with the most amount of lag experienced by the TO will receive a DQ for that set.

- 1st / 2nd / 3rd place will receive guaranteed Amazon Giftcards by me (Hai). 1st = $20 / 2nd = $10 / 3rd = $5.
