Please make sure you give the details a read-through so that you know how things are going to go! The tournament will be held swiss-style, meaning every player will split into groups of two and play simultaneously for each round. We will be having 4-5 swiss rounds (depending on attendance) each consisting of a total of 5 individual matches. While this may lead to situations where one player might have a 3-0 lead, you will be earning points for every match win and every game win, so it’s always worth trying your best! At the end of all the rounds, a winner will be declared based on how many points they have earned (i.e. whoever earns the most match wins in total).

This tournament is open to all skill levels. The only requirements to participate are players are 18+, part of the LGBTQIA2+ community, and be a member of the discord. Swiss tournament structure is designed in such a way to pair you with evenly matched opponents over the course of the event. In the event of odd players, one player each round will earn a bye (where one player does not have anyone to match against, and therefore is awarded an automatic full win).

Tie breakers will be in place based on game wins, and then the Buchholz system. The number of rounds/games are subject to change if the number of participants varies greatly with the current expected turnout. Ahead of the event, I will be doing my best to seed players to our best understanding of skill level for the first round so that the event has the best chance of getting you to players of equal skill level.
