Welcome to the Swiss stage of the Super Metroid Randomizer Accessible Tournament! 



This stage will serve as the seeding stages for the two brackets (Upper Rat and Lower Mouse).  Participants will be required to participate in ALL rounds in order to qualify for the bracket stages.

A case by case basis will be used for runners who are unable to participate in a round. In the event that a participant is unable to participate due to an extenuating circumstance, admin discretion will be used to determine final seeding.

SMRAT 2021 Information

1. Signups will begin Friday, December 4th and run through the month of December.

2. All races will be run using the SMRAT2021 settings preset from the VARIA website at http://randommetroidsolver.pythonanywhere.com/randomizer

3. Runners must stream races to their own channel, and all races will use speedrunslive for timing

             a. Offline races may be deemed acceptable on a case-by-case basis, but would require a local recording to be shared with the SRA moderation team

4. 6 round swiss that includes all runners will be used to fill both the RAT (upper) and MOUSE (lower) brackets

             a. A race will occur between each grouping (i.e. all 6-0 runners) to determine seed numbers, all runners that complete the 6 swiss rounds will be seeded.

             b. The 3-3 race will determine the last in / first out of the RAT bracket

             c. Admin discretion may be used in extreme cases to determine bracket (e.g former top 12 finishers, WR holders, etc.)

5. The seeded rat and mouse brackets will be single elimination, best of 3 matches, with each round being given a 2 week timeframe for the racers to schedule and race all of their matches.

6. We will restream as many races as we can on the SpeedRunnersArena family of channels.  Having said that, we are a small team and we sadly cannot guarantee that every match will get a restream.  This is particularly true during the swiss rounds, as the number of matches that would require restream would be virtually impossible, as we are humans with jobs, families, and sleep requirements.
