Turn the Tide is a online Rivals of Aether tournament organized by Tritons of Aether, a student organization at the University of California San Diego. It runs weekly, starting at 5PM PST each Saturday. The bracket is open to all California participants! Join the discord here: https://discord.gg/ABPH9M2
As there is no crossplay between different versions of the game, these tournaments are open to PC participants only.
Top 8 will be streamed at https://www.twitch.tv/tritonsofaether , so please save your replays!
We will be asking players to check in on Discord 30 minutes prior to the bracket firing; failure to check in will result in removal from the bracket. (If you register within this 30-minute window, you're considered automatically checked in.) The bracket runs on a double elimination structure - ie, matches are best-of-3 except Winners, Losers, and Grand Finals, which are best-of-5, and you are knocked out of the tournament after losing two such sets. Use the game's default settings (3-stock, 8 minutes, double-blind character selection.) The only difference is that in stage striking, a player cannot choose to return to a stage they have already won on.
After each game, please SAVE YOUR REPLAYS on the results screen! This both helps us in the event of a score dispute, and is also crucial for us to be able to stream games.
No out-of-game harassment, bullying, or other seriously disrespectful behavior will be tolerated, and will lead to an immediate DQ.
In the event of connection issues, we ask that you ping a moderator in the discord, at which point one will run a connection test with both players. If either of them has a connection which severely hampers play, we reserve the right to DQ them.
