The Capitols Classic is the biggest high school Super Smash Brothers Ultimate tournament in the state of Illinois and it has a simple goal: determine who the top five best high school Super Smash Brothers Ultimate players are in the state. It is hosted at Springfield High School in Springfield, IL on Saturday, February 22nd from 9:00AM - 5:00PM. The morning session features pool play and the afternoon session features a double elimination bracket to determine the top three best players in the state. The tournament is hosted by the Springfield Public Schools esports team, the Springfield Capitols. The tournament doubles as a college esports recruitment event as colleges from Illinois and its surrounding states come to set up tables and speak to perspective college esports players.
