It's now time for a new randomizer tournament... a Dragon Warrior Randomizer tournament!  This has become quite popular over the last few weeks, and we've been planning something like this for months, so we're excited to present this to you!

Tournament Format

This will be a straight double elimination tournament, with the winner of the losers finals being required to win two matches against the winner of the winners finals in order to win the tournament.  We are aiming for a pace of one match per week in the winners bracket, and two matches per week in the losers bracket.

Seeding for this tournament will be done strictly through rankings on SpeedRunsLive.  If you don't have a ranking on there, then you will be seeded lower than those who are at the tournament director's discretion.

Game Rules

All games must use SpeedRunsLive (SRL).  If you have not signed up, please visit their site to do so.   All players must stream their matches.  We recommend saving your streams locally in case you lose connection to Twitch.  You may use a console or an approved emulator to play.  All races are blind.

All games in this tournament will be on ultra randomization (-U) and fast experience speed (75% of normal, -f), and will use the latest release, which is version 1.2.

Speed hacks (-H) will be allowed ONLY if both competitors involved in the match agree to use them.  If there is no agreement, then speed hacks will not be allowed.

By signing up for this tournament, you agree to have your stream restreamed for commentary purposes.  This provision only applies to tournament matches.

No cheating is allowed in this tournament.  This includes a non-exhaustive list of the following:  the use of programs that generate maps, looking at your competitors screen to see where items are or their progress, looking at a restream, or hacking of the RAM to give you items, experience, or gold.  Any cheating discovered by the judges will result in instant disqualification from this tournament and an indefinite ban from future randomizer tournaments.  This may also result in a ban from randomizer tournaments in other games as well.

You also need to avoid seeing spoilers from your chat on your channel.  It is recommended that you remain off of your chat channel while you are in a tournament race.

If there are any disputes, an administrator will make the final decision.  If the dispute involves an administrator directly, an alternate judge will be chosen to make the final decision.

Match Procedure

Please discuss with your opponent on to discuss when you want to have your match.  These are good methods to contact your opponent:

- SpeedRunsLive's #random (best method)

- Discord(Please contact an admin for a link to the Discord server)

- Challonge (private message)

- Twitch (whisper)

Please make it to your match on time!  If you are over 10 minutes late to your race and you give no prior notice, you will be disqualified from the current tournament.

.startrace dwhacks - Starts a race

.enter - Join the race

.ready - Ready to begin the race

.done - Use this command when you see the text "And thus the tale comes to an end... unless the dragons return again." (this happens after a brief conversation with the King, and possibly a brief conversation with the princess, after defeating the DragonLord)

.quit - In case something arises and you have to forfeit the race.

.undone - In case you accidentally typed .done or .quit.

Spectator Rules

No spectator in a competitor's channel is allowed to give information that gives a competitor an advantage.  This includes a non-exhaustive list of the following:  giving information about their opponents' progress or giving information about where items are found.  The penalty is a chat ban from all channels involved in the tournament for the remainder of the tournament.

All spectators are allowed to discuss anything (within normal chat rules) in a restreamed channel.

Commentary / Restreaming

We welcome those who would like to commentate and restream our matches during this tournament.  Commentators will be selected at a rotating basis based on availability of the commentators.  If you are interested, please note that you need to try to be as neutral as possible.  Predictions are totally allowed, but "rooting for a competitor" is a big no-no.  Please download LiveStream and VLC Player so that the restream is in sync with the competitors' streams.

Please contact gameboyf9 if you have any questions with regards to this tournament.
