About Parries and Platforms #4

Another month, another Parries and Platforms. Come play some games! We're getting a little wild with the older games for this one because old games are fun. :D Here's our game list:

Schedule:

11:00 - Registration begins (you can register up until a game begins)
12:00 - Super Smash Bros Ultimate (Switch), Soul Calibur 6 (PS4), Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike (PS4), Vampire Savior (PS3)
2:00 - Towerfall (PC), King of Fighters 13 (PS3), Samurai Shodown (PS4)
4:00 - Super Street Fighter II Turbo (PS3), Under Night In-Birth Late Exe ST (PS4), Mystery 1v1 (Various, 32 people maximum)

Venue fee is $5, and all games are $5 to enter per person. Each event is double-elimination, and each set is best-of-three games until top 4 (winners finals, losers semifinals, losers finals, grand finals) which are all best-of-five. Each event requires at least 4 people to take place. 100% of entry fees are paid out to the top placers. Number/percentages:

4-6 - Top 2, 75/25%
7-14 - Top 3, 60/25/15%
15-29 - Top 4, 50/25/15/10%
30+ - Top 6, 40/20/15/10/7.5/7.5%

Wireless controllers: If you use a wireless controller and it disrupts someone's tournament match, you lose your next game. If it happens again, you are DQ'd. Make sure to take steps to desync your controller from tournament setups. Pro Switch controllers can be synced to your phone to quickly sync them back up after a match, and you can ask the person after you on PS4 setups to disconnect your wireless PS4 pad.

Smash U rule list:

All games are 3 Stock, 8 Minutes.

Final Smash Meter: Off

First game stage selection: Players/Teams play RPS to decide who strikes first. Winning player/team strikes one stage from the starter stage list, other player/team strikes two stages, and winning player strikes one more stage. Game is played on the remaining stage.

Second/Third stage selection: Player/Team that won previous game bans two stages from the entire list of legal stages. Player/Team that lost the previous game then picks a stage from the remaining stages, minus any they have won on during that set. Player/Team that won previous game then picks character(s), and then other player/team picks their character(s).

Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike rules:
- 2/3 rounds
- Winner keeps character
- Gill is banned

King of Fighters 13 rules:
- Winner keeps characters, may change order if loser changes characters or order.
- Random stage unless one is agreed upon. White stage is banned.

Towerfall rules:
- First to 5 rounds
- Tournament variant set
- First stage random
- Stages after first game are loser's choice
- Cannot pick a stage you've won on
- Controllers are provided at each station, but you can use your own controller if you wish

Under Night In-Birth rules:
- 2/3 rounds
- Random stage
- Winner keeps character

Soul Calibur 6 rules:
- 3/5 rounds
- Random Stage
- Winner keeps character
- Loser may rematch or pick a random stage

Samurai Shodown rules:
- 2/3 rounds
- Winner keeps character

Super Street Fighter II Turbo rules:
- 2/3 rounds
- Winner keeps character
- HDR Classic mode

Vampire Savior rules:
- 2/3 rounds (bats)
- Winner keeps character

Mystery rules:
- Game/Round count varies by game
- Winner keeps character when applicable
- 32 people maximum
