Best of 3 until Top 6 (Winner's Semis/Losers Quarters) (unless there is a larger amt of entrants, then Bo5 may begin earlier. An Advisor will clarify before your set starts)
Miis are legal (but tell your opponent which moveset you're using before the set starts as a courtesy)
Contact your opponent using #tourney-chat within the Discord server.
To prevent from messages from being lost in the clutter of other people communicating, you and your opponent may create a thread for the 2 of you to coordinate arena details, stage bans, and whatever else is necessary. If you choose to do so, you can create a thread by pressing the + button next to the text box, or the # icon at the top of the page.
Scores can be manually reported within Challonge. Make sure you are logged into your Challonge account to do so. If there are any conflicts please contact one of @Master Invi's Advisors (tournament moderators) in #tourney-chat within the Discord server.

A game played properly from start to finish gets counted as both players agreed to it. In case of disagreement, they can opt to SD and discuss again to make sure they're both on the same page.
