The run category is 100%. Timing starts upon file select and ends on the final hit of 0².
The format of the tournament is double elimination. Runners should be available to do one match per week.
All scheduling will be done in the Official Kirby Speedrunning Tournament Discord. Every runner is required to join.
Runs can be done on any official release of the game: N64, Wii Virtual Console, Wii U Virtual Console, or Kirby's Dream Collection. However, it should be noted that N64 and WiiUVC lose significant time to the other two options.
Emulator is banned for this tournament because of emulation inaccuracy.
All matches are required to be livestreamed. Please ensure there is nothing covering your game feed and no additional sounds playing other than the game audio. These races will be restreamed on SpeedGaming. It is also recommended to local record your gameplay in the case of your stream being disconnected.
SpeedRunsLive (SRL) will be used to conduct races. If you are unfamiliar with SRL, please contact a SpeedGaming volunteer in the tournament discord.
Registration will end and seeding will be locked on October 4th at 11:59pm MDT. The tournament will begin immediately after. We will aim to have one round played each week.
Please note that matches must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance to allow for SpeedGaming stream scheduling.
Seeding will be determined by runners' personal bests on the official speedrun.com leaderboard. If a faster time than what is on the board is known for a runner, that time will be used instead.
