The run category is 100%. Timing starts on "one player game" and ends on the final hit on Nightmare. The 100% screen must be shown after the Nightmare fight.
The format of the tournament is Double Elimination. Runners should be available to do a match around three times every two weeks.
All scheduling will be done in the Official Kirby Speedrunning Tournament Discord. Every runner is required to join.
Runs are allowed to be done on any official release of the game including GBA, GBP, DS, and Wii U Virtual Console.
Additionally you can use an emulator, there are two requirements when using emulator:
All matches are required to be livestreamed, please ensure there is nothing covering your gamefeed and no additional sounds playing other than the game audio. These races will be restreamed on SpeedGaming. It is also reccomended to local record your gameplay in the case of your stream being disconnected.
Speedrunslive (SRL) or Speedman's Racebot Discord can be used to conduct races. If you are unfamiliar with SRL, please contact a SpeedGaming volunteer in the tournament discord.
Registration will end and seeding will be locked on April 30th - 12:00AM ET
The tournament will officially begin on May 1st - 12:00AM ET
Seeding will be determined by placement on the official speedrun.com leaderboard. The only exception is in the case of runs on emulator under the 45:00 minute emulator threshold. These runs are required to have video proof and must be a known community member. If you have a run on emulator faster than 45:00 minutes, please DM the tournament admins (Rox#2095, Quil#7310) on Discord.
