Tourney Format:

  • Double Elimination Bracket Format
  • All matchups are going to be in best 2 out of 3 with the grand finals (Top 2) being best 3 out of 5.
  • Each round will have roughly 1 week, with a little bit more leeway for the 2nd chance bracket. So please be ready to play on time.
  • The procedure for scheduling a matchup is to set up a race room on SRL, do your races at the agreed upon time, and hop into the discord voice channel for a post race interview if you want.

The seeding of the brackets is going to go by PB times. If you do not have a time on the leaderboards by the time the tournament starts, then you will be ranked on the very bottom of the seeding list.

  • All participants must be in the discord server. If you are not in the server by the time the tournament starts, you will be dropped.
  • Emulators are not allowed. Deluxe Version is allowed. In a matchup of a Wii U vs. Switch runner, Wii U runner has to win by 33 seconds or more in order to claim a win.
  • All players are required to stream their races. It is recommended that you local record in the case of disconnection problems, excessive frame drops, or other technical reasons.
  • During each race, I highly suggest you turn off all alerts and everything else that may interfere with the gamefeed in order to avoid any stream distractions. Muting mic is also preferable so the restream can use your audio.
  • If the final SRL race time ends in a tie (same second), the match is declared a tie and must be redone.
  • It is recommended that you familiarize yourself with SRL before your first match. It takes about 10 minutes to figure all of the basic stuff out. This will help prevent delays and the matches can start on time.
  • Race starts the moment you move from the starting space of World 1 and ends on the third/final hit of Bowser.
  • Deadlines are final. If you and your opponent do not schedule a match within the deadline, then the player who is the less active will forfeit the matchup. If you have a very good reason to not race within a week, then contact the tourney organizers and we can figure something out. If it is found that many matchups are being delayed, then it will be up to organizers to decide if the deadline will be pushed back. If you know you'll be busy throughout the duration of the tournament, then it is recommended that you do not participate in the tournament.
  • ALL SKILL LEVELS ARE WELCOME! The tournament is all for fun. Tournaments are a good reason for new players to show up and start competing.
