General Information

This is a race tournament for Mega Man X (SNES) - 100% Completion. All game versions are allowed except for X Collection. The JP version is fastest due to text differences - we strongly recommend you play this version, as no time handicap will be given for other versions. Players may use SNES, Virtual Console, or emulator to play tournament races. ZSNES and Snes9x 1.43 are not allowed. 

This is a double-elimination tournament. All players will be seeded at the end of registration according to their personal best time on the Mega Man X leader board. Please be sure to submit your times to this leaderboard for accurate seeding. Players with no time on the leader board will recieve the lowest seeds and thus face the highest ranked players in the early rounds.

Entrants play one match per week in the Winner's Bracket or two matches per week in the Loser's Bracket. Winners' Round 6 onwards and Losers Round 9 onwards will be BO3 series. 

Definition of 100% Completion

• Run begins at Game Start - no passwords are allowed
  
• Collection of all items is required (8 heart tanks, 4 sub tanks, 4 standard upgrade capsules, and the Hadouken). 
• Run ends on last hit against Velgaurder Sigma.
• A reset and password will be allowed for soft locks and bad stage selects, given that you do not edit the password and simply use the last password that the game had given you. If you had already collected the Hadouken, be sure to hold L, R, X, and down while you hit start or you will have to complete all your revisits again.

Match Procedure

At the agreed upon time, join the #speedrunslive IRC channel on irc.speedrunslive.com or at http://www.speedrunslive.com/channel/. Begin a race with the command:

    .startrace mmx

You will be given a race channel. Join that channel, then enter the command:

    .setgoal 100%

Both players should then enter the race using:

    .enter

When you are ready (i.e. have your stream live and are waiting at the Game Start screen), enter the command:

    .ready

You will then see a red countdown in the channel. As soon as it says "GO!", go! When you've finished your run, enter the command:

    .done
