The main way of communication during the tournament is the WePlay! Discord server Esports Team captains’ must be present in the Discord server. The nickname of representatives of teams must contain the team name (to find opponents), otherwise you will not be able to participate in the tournament.

1. General Conditions

1.1. WePlay! Dota 2 tournaments are governed by the following set of rules and regulations which apply to all participants in order to provide a fair and pleasant experience for all our users.

1.2. For violation of any of the clauses of the rules, the Referee reserves the right to issue a warning (verbal or written) or a technical defeat.

1.3. Repeated warnings may lead to a technical defeat of the team.

1.4. Google Chrome is the recommended browser to participate in the tournaments.

2. Tournament Format

2.1. Participants compete in a Single Elimination bracket - a single loss results in elimination from the tournament.

2.2. Teams are allowed to compete in a tournament with the same roster they have at the time of registering for the tournament.

2.3. Game Mode — 5v5 Captains Mode

2.4. All matches are Bo1, except final Bo3.

2.5. Tournament draw is done randomly by the system.

2.6. Half an hour before the tournament, a link to the tournament timetable will be published on the Discord channel.

3. Game Rules

3.1. The main way of communication during the tournament is the WePlay! Discord server Esports Team captains’ must be present in the Discord server. The nickname of representatives of teams must contain the team name (to find opponents), otherwise you will not be able to participate in the tournament.

3.2. All tournament games’ will be played manually. the team located higher in the grid should create a match lobby and indicate the name and password to their opponent. 

Example of setting up the lobby: (if both teams agree, the server can be changed)

3.3. Every team can pause the game up to 10 minutes. The total number of pauses cannot exceed five per match. A team can keep the game paused for a longer period of time with the consent of the opponent.

3.4. Before resuming, the team who paused the game must make sure the other team is ready. The game can resume as soon as the opponent announces readiness.

3.5. The winner of the match is the team that destroys the opponent’s throne.

3. 6 After the match is over, you’ll need to send a screenshot of the result to the tournament channel within 10 minutes after the game. For convenience, use the team logos in the gaming lobby.

3.7. If your game has exceeded the 60 minute mark, you need to pause and inform a Dota2 Admin on WePlay! Esports Discord server that your game is delayed. Otherwise, you may receive a technical defeat.

3.8. A team that refuses to play a game again requested by the chief Judge receives a technical defeat and loses any prizes won in the tournament.

4. Prohibited:

4.1. Pausing the game during draft.

4.2. Resuming your opponent's pause during the first 10 minutes, resuming your own pause without notifying your opponent and their approval, and not pausing the game when all the opposing team’s players have been disconnected from the game are all prohibited. If any of these actions happen, the Referee can penalize the team in violation of the rule with a technical defeat. To file a complaint, you need to provide the Referee with screenshots proving your opponent has violated this rule.

4.3. Continuing the game when more than one player of a team are disconnected. In this situation the team receives a technical defeat.

4.4 It is forbidden to swear, humiliate, provoke, abuse and deceive participants as well as judges during a tournament by any means. For such violations, the player/team may receive a warning or technical defeat and lose any prizes won. To report such behaviors, you must provide screenshots.

4.5. Unsportsmanlike behavior is prohibited. Examples of such acts include but is not limited to sabotaging a match, manipulation of rules, exploitation of bugs, and verbal abuse. Punishments range from a warning to total disqualification from the tournament.

4.6. A player/team name cannot include propaganda, racism, or any form of hatred towards representatives of a certain nationality.

4.7. A player/team avatar cannot contain violent images, pornographic material, propaganda, racism, or any form of hatred towards representatives of a certain nationality.

4.8. A player/team name cannot include a domain (for example: www.google.com or google.com). Such players/teams will not be allowed to participate in WePlay! tournaments.

5. Appeals

5.1. All claims of violation of the rules are accepted for consideration within 10 minutes after the game. If there are no claims after the specified time, the result of the match can no longer be changed. It is highly recommended to keep screenshots of all complaints, violations, misbehaviours, and match results until the end of the tournament.

5.2. Technical defeats are issued only after a Judge approves.

5.3. All the above mentioned rules are situational and can be interpreted differently by the Judges for each game in order to make the best decision.

5.4. Any situation not covered in the rules will be handled by the tournament administration.

5.5. Any participant in a disputed or conflicting situation is responsible for the accuracy of the information submitted.

5.6. Decisions of the Judges in any situation including those not described in these rules are final and not negotiable.

6. Prize and Miscellaneous

6.1 The tournament administration has the right to change and modify the rules at any time at its discretion.

7. Schedule

All matches including 1/4, are played on 04/17/2020 at 13:00 CEST 04/20/2020 - semifinals at 16:00 CEST and final 17:00 CEST
